Widows Bay TV Series [2026]

Widows Bay has it all. Folk Horror, Haunted Houses, Medieval Horror, Slasher Horror, Magic Mushrooms. It’s the perfect place to visit.

This new deceptive Apple TV series took me by complete surprise and has quickly become my favourite TV show. Much like the ridiculous faux marketing poster of a happy couple rowing around Widows Bay island, this really is a tour de force that plays with horror tropes featuring a dark comedic edge and great characters.

The slow burning series begins like a quirky Parks and Recreation comedy when chirpy town mayor (Matthew Rhys) is determined to put the island on the tourist map. But the locals have other ideas and local legends surface when the local eccentric loner (Stephen Root) recounts tales of the cursed island’s history of lost sailors, sea hags, and cult founders.

And before you can say Boo! Strange things start happening on the island.

With the finale right around the corner, you should book yourself a summer holiday in Widows Bay, immediately. But don't say I didn't warn you.
